From Mr. Saum
By now many of you have heard the unfortunate news: due to Covid quarantine protocols, we unfortunately have to cancel our performances of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown for Thursday May 20 - Saturday May 22. Because of the Memorial Day weekend and graduation, there is no way for us to reschedule all 3 of these performances. We are however going to add an option for a matinee on our final performance date on June 5 at 1:00pm, and I am looking into a streaming option to help us ensure that everyone who wants to see Charlie Brown will have the option of doing so. Please stay tuned.
If you have purchased tickets for this weekend, you have a couple of options. Rescheduling tickets/seats on my end will be a monumental undertaking and not possible. Everyone who holds a ticket for the canceled show dates needs to contact me and let me know which of these two options they would like to proceed with:
Option 1: Refund. Contact me and let me know if you would like a refund and I can process that immediately. This is super easy for me to process.
Option 2: Ticket donation. There are large costs associated with a musical which are covered through ASB funds. These funds are replenished through our ticket sales. An example of one of these costs: licensing and rental fees for scripts for this show is $2530.80. That's just the scripts and the rights to rehearse and perform, and does not include fees for set building materials, prop making materials, costumes, etc. Anyone who wishes to donate their ticket fees to help us recoup some of these costs are certainly welcome to do so and should let me know.
I'm so sorry to have to send this email and I personally feel sick to my stomach. Our cast, crew, and pit have all put in so much time and effort during and after school into this production and for the second week in a row, they've had to postpone performances, and now they've lost 2 of them forever. I can promise that I am going to do everything I can to ensure that our performers will have an opportunity to perform, and their families will have an opportunity to see them. Keep thinking positive thoughts.
Please let me know if you have any questions and let me know how you would like to proceed with your tickets for May 20-22. Email me at email@example.com
